Date night!
Lucas is waking up from his nap, sounds like he is just playing with his books and toys in the crib. We'll see how long I have!
Last night Jim & I went on our first real date since October 16, 2011. A little over a year and a half between dates is bad!
We started the day in Wildwood, NJ with my parents it was beautiful down the shore; very warm (we have some sun burn). Lucas rode a bunch of rides (as did Mommy; dizzy), we snacked on Curly Fries & Lemonade shake-ups. Then we went to Joe's Seafood Co. for lunch & margaritas. Joe's has amazing pizza if you have never tried it; highly recommend the garlic & shrimp white pie! We ran into some old Golden Sunrise friends who were on the same page as the rest of us. Then we headed home. 3 of the 5 of us passed out for part of the ride, thank you to my dad who filled my gas tank & did the driving! You are more then welcome to drive me more places if I get to nap!
Got back to my parents & did the quickest change of clothes & refresh I could to get out the door by 6:30. The drive to 309 is always a bitch, the drive up 309 is so quick! The Sellersville theater is only 15-20 minutes from my Godfather's house in North Wales.
[The Sellersvilles theater is small but very nice. The prices for concessions was extremely reasonable, $20 for 3- 12 oz beers, a 20 oz Diet Pepsi & a 1 oz bag of popcorn & $2 tip.]
So we saw Gary Hoey (phenomenal guitar player & great singer) check him out if you haven't already, you wont be disappointed! His opening band were teenagers from Chicago, I was blown away by how awesome they were (The Giving Moon). I wish I had figured out sooner that my cell phone camera took better pictures than the camera that I have! I would have had much better photos & video of them to share.
After the concert we headed home debating what we wanted to eat for a very later dinner. At midnight we decided on Nifty Fifties. I think we were the oldest couple there! We shared some spicy chicken nuggets, fries and a Tastykake Peanut butter kake milkshake (awesome)! It felt like our first date again (funny because they put us in the same seat we sat in way back in 2008!). We got home at 1 & passed out once we hit the bed.
It was nice having a night to ourselves & I am so thankful for my parents taking Lucas overnight! He had a great time with Mom-mom & Pop-pop, eating steak & asparagus for dinner at Longhorne, swimming in my parents huge bath tub and passing out listening to the sounds of Rainbow Connection (party animal)! Then this morning Lucas & I were treated to breakfast at Cracker Barrel, SCORE!
That ended up being a longer than expected post, Lucas is chilling in his crib, time to go get him out!
