The Thoughts of Laura

So it's Saturday, December 11th! What does that mean? Well, it is 3 weeks till the 2O11 Mummers Parade, of course!!! I am excited to be doing something completely different this year as a Fancy. When I started parading on Jan 1, 2004, I was 16 and I was in Irish American String band. So, this is going to be my 8th parade; crazy! It is still a little sad that I wont be parading in the string bands any longer, but for now, that chapter of my life has been closed. I'd like to think that it is definitely for the better. Anyways, on an even better note, Christmas is now only 2 weeks away!! I still haven't finished shopping yet. The only good thing is that I know exactly where I have to go, and what I have to get. I may run to CVS today so I can print the pictures that I need for my mom-mom & pop-pop's gifts. I bought them frames from Exclusive Weddings that hold two photos, one that is supposed to be of me and them from when I was little, and then one from the wedding ...

Okay, so I am new to Blogger.com, but I figured, what the heck, might as well start a blog about my life now that I am married.  So yes, I married my lovely husband, Jim (Been), back on October 16, 2010. We just moved from our small 1 bedroom apartment, into a large(r) 2 bedroom a mile up the Blvd. We really love this new place because it offers so much more room, the bathroom is not in the bedroom, and there is actually room to have a kitchen table! Not only that, but the living room is large enough for 2 couches! SCORE! Best part, rent is only $715 a month and we pay electric & gas. But compared to the 1 bedroom we were paying $700 for, this is a very nice change! I really love the extra bedroom too, we can't wait to fill it with stuff for a baby, sometime down the road! But for now, we will enjoy the company of each other...and our 2 cats & hamster! Well, that's all for tonight, maybe I'll try to update daily!! We'll see what happens! ;)
